The Financial Times’ has covered the Wholesale Digital Gold vision and whitepaper, launched by the World Gold Council in partnership with leading law firm Linklaters LLP and Hilltop Walk Consulting. The article, “London’s bullion market to trial digital gold,” highlights how Pooled Gold Interests (PGI) could enable fractional ownership, efficient digital transfers, and the use of gold as collateral in the wholesale market.

Wholesale Digital Gold is designed to complement today’s allocated and unallocated models, supporting OTC settlement and the use of gold as collateral. A pilot with market participants is expected to be conducted next year.
